Major soil deposits of India : ウィキペディア英語版 | Major soil deposits of India
There are about five soil deposits in India. ==Alluvial soils== Alluvial soils are formed from alluvial deposits of rivers from mountainous region of Himalayas - Ganga, Brahmaputra and Indus rivers. These soils are found in North India in Indo-Gangetic and Brahmaputra flood plains. The soils are relatively fertile, as it is brought by the silt of the rivers of the Northern Plains and are generally considered good for crop cultivation. These soils have low density, which implies that their shearing strength is low, making it suitable for kharif and rabi crop cultivation
